Our Eye Doctors
Steven Kas, O.D.
Dr. Kas grew up in San Jose and is a local High School graduate. He received his Bachelor’s with honors from U.C. Davis in 1999 and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry in 2003, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. Dr. Kas received specialized training at the Illinois Eye Institute and the Brooklyn VA Hospital. His clinical interests include anterior segment diseases, corneal refractive therapy, and LASIK vision correction. He is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa international Optometric Honor Society. He has provided free eye exams to infants under the InfantSEE program, and provided free Lasik surgery management under the Gift of Sight Program. He was named as one of “America’s Top Optometrists” in 2004, 2005, and 2012 by the National Research Council. Dr. Kas and his wife Annie are proud parents of two sons: Alexandre, born in 2014 and Victor, born in 2017.

Dr. Rachel Reed
Dr. Rachel Reed is a pediatric optometrist who provides comprehensive eye care for children of all ages. A Massachusetts native, Dr. Reed earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with a concentration in pediatric optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where she subsequently completed a residency in pediatric optometry. She trained at several hospitals and health centers in the Boston area including Boston Children’s Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, and the Perkins School for the Blind. Dr. Reed especially enjoys fitting pediatric contact lenses, conducting vision therapy, and working with children with disabilities, and she happily offers non-verbal eye exams. Her clinical interests include strabismus (eye misalignment), amblyopia (lazy eye), myopia (nearsightedness) control, and binocular vision (eye teaming, focusing, and tracking) disorders.
Dr. Reed is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society. In her free time, she loves painting, photography, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Michelle Tran
Dr. Michelle Tran received her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL and earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of California, San Diego. She completed her clinical training around the country including the Illinois Eye Institute, the Villages VA hospital in Florida, and at two private institutions in Ohio and California. One of Dr. Tran’s primary interest is in myopia control with the use of specialty contact lenses. She is also glaucoma certified and is experienced in the diagnosis and management of anterior and posterior ocular diseases. Clinically, she strives to give each of her patients an informative and complete experience. She is fluent in Mandarin and has experience working with patients of all backgrounds. Outside the office, she enjoys swimming, traveling, sculpting and spending time with friends and family in her hometown of San Francisco!
